Gluten free tacos made with seasoned ground beef and corn tortillas

Ingredients

  • Taco Filling

  • 1 lb ground beef, turkey, or chicken

  • 1 tbsp olive oil (if using lean meat)

  • 1 tsp chili powder

  • 1 tsp cumin

  • ½ tsp paprika

  • ½ tsp garlic powder

  • ½ tsp onion powder

  • ½ tsp salt

  • ¼ tsp black pepper

  • ¼ cup water

  • For Serving

  • 8–10 corn tortillas (certified gluten free)

  • Shredded lettuce

  • Diced tomatoes

  • Shredded cheese

  • Salsa or pico de gallo

  • Sour cream or dairy-free alternative

  • Avocado or guacamole

  • Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add olive oil if needed.
  • Add ground meat and cook until browned, breaking it apart as it cooks.
  • Drain excess grease if necessary.
  • Stir in chili powder, cumin, paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
  • Add water and simmer for 3–5 minutes until thickened.
  • Warm corn tortillas in a dry skillet or microwave wrapped in a damp towel.
  • Fill tortillas with meat and top with desired toppings.
  • Serve immediately.

Notes

  • Always check that corn tortillas are labeled gluten free, as some are processed with wheat.
    For extra flavor, warm tortillas directly over a gas flame for a few seconds per side.
    Swap meat for black beans or lentils for a vegetarian option.
