kcalThis gluten-free tater tot casserole is a cozy, classic comfort food made with seasoned ground beef, a creamy cheesy filling, and a crispy tater tot topping. It’s an easy, family-friendly dinner that comes together with simple pantry ingredients.
Ingredients
1 pound hamburger
1⁄2 cup diced onion
1/2 cup sour cream
2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
1 can green beans or small bag of frozen mixed vegetables, whatever you prefer!
1 bag gluten free tater tots
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 375
- Spray a 9 x 13 casserole dish
- Place a pan over medium high heat, add the beef, and break up with a wooden spoon. Continue to break the meat into small pieces; add the onion and a dash of salt and pepper if you like – continue to cook until the meat is browned. Drain the grease and return to the pan or put in a large mixing bowl.
- To the hamburger mixture, add the sour cream, cheese, and cream of chicken soup. Mix until combined. Pour into your prepared casserole dish.
- Top with the tater tots and cook uncovered for 45 minutes.
Notes
- Drain the cooked beef well to prevent excess grease in the casserole.
- You can swap green beans for frozen mixed vegetables or corn depending on preference.
- For extra crispiness, place the casserole under the broiler for 2–3 minutes at the end (watch closely).
- Leftovers store well in the refrigerator for up to 3 days and reheat best in the oven or air fry
